Word of the Day Poem: Sooth

A discerning bus stop bench
Spits out a thirty year old man
In a formerly finely-tailored suit
Stuck in a Silicon crucible
Unsure, searching
For the sooth within his dreams

I try to keep up with the Word of the Day from Dictionary.com’s mobile app and Wordsmith.org’s email subscription. There are also moments within my day where a familiar word will stand out and feel more important or special than it usually does. It catches me.

This is the first installment in a new series of poems based around either a new word I’ve learned or an old word that’s revealed a new side of itself.
