Goosebumps

Get a glimpse
Of a glorious time
Where you’re free
Smiling and alive
Let it surge all at once
A growth
Of goosebumps
Think of the things you get to gather
To which you are inclined
A chilly wind
Starts escaping from your spine
That tickling, trickling frisson
Your skin constricts
Your blood cells
Your hairs
Stand at attention
Glued to a moment
Stolen from heaven
These gruesome bumps
They are your one, true ascension

  1. I really liked this one. Lots a good lines here “let it surge all at once / a growth / of goosebumps” and images as well. The last two lines are also quite good since they are an original way of a sentiment that is expressed in thousands of other poems.
