The planet Kaloscentro MX5 does not have photographs. The only “reliable” tools to record the visual world are through telescopes and kaleidoscopes.
The telescopes screw everybody up, because they make the edges of cliffs look farther away, they make dangerous animals appear to be at safe distances, and they cause more black eyes during baseball than a broken glove.
Most inhabitants prefer to record their lives with kaleidoscopes. It’s drool-inducing trip. No inhabitant really knows – what anything — actually — looks like – they just see a series of rotating reflections, twisting shapes, patterns, colors.
Colorful, mathematical, extravagant hypnosis.
