Chaplin Deserves It

Sometimes, things are good.
Then they turn bad.
Through choice
or association
or chance.
They can be good for eons,
but an instance of bad
pollutes the thing
for eternity.
For example,
the toothbrush mustache used to be the Chaplin,
now it’s the Hitler.

That mustache was not bad,
it symbolizes bad
because of the last person who wore it
was the worst.
It will always be the Hitler,
despite the fact that Chaplin deserves
the honor and legacy
of owning it.
